If you have a bank dispute that you thought was too old to lodge with AFCA and if you were awarded compensation and didn’t receive it – GOOD NEWS.
From 1 July 2019, AFCA will be taking complaints dating back to 1 January 2008 which AFCA, its predecessor schemes, courts and tribunals have not dealt with. Complaints that come within this scope will be subject to the provisions of the existing AFCA Rules, except for the time limit provisions. See AFCA Media release
After much lobbying, the Government has announced there will be a compensation scheme of last resort. So Consumers who were awarded compensation and did not receive payment will be redressed. This ensures that Consumers who were the victims of misconduct will be fairly compensated.
